We have made improvements to the accessibility of our mobile banking app. Specifically, we have enhanced the front and back of check instructions for the check deposit function on Apple Watch. Additionally, there are updates to the way balances are displayed for certain account types. We have also included various general enhancements and fixed minor bugs. Furthermore, we have addressed an issue related to device rotation during check deposit on iOS 16.
Issue with Mobile App:
I am currently awaiting a response regarding an issue with my mobile app. After the conversion, I discovered that someone else's name was associated with my accounts. I am perplexed as to how this has happened, as this individual seems to have access to my social security number as well. Incredibly concerning is the fact that this other person also has an account with their social security number associated with it. This situation raises significant privacy and security concerns for me. Consequently, I am in urgent need of closing my accounts and actively searching for a new bank. The current situation is utterly unacceptable and has left me deeply dissatisfied.
I've been a customer of Midland since I opened my first checking account back when I was around 16 or 17 years old. It's been over a decade now, and I find myself questioning why I continue to bank with them. The only genuine reason is that my parents also bank with Midland, so they can easily transfer money to me when I'm in need. However, the convenience factor of their app is severely lacking. It's the complete opposite of what you would expect. The account balance is never up to date, and transactions take an agonizingly long time to process. Sometimes, they don't even show up on your account for several days or even longer! Even when my mother transfers money directly from her own Midland account to mine, it doesn't show up immediately. So, if you make another transaction based on the belief that you have a certain amount of money in your account (despite what the app says), you might end up overdrawing because the app simply hasn't updated yet! It's truly unbelievable! In this day and age of advanced technology, Midland seems unable to hire competent software engineers or technicians to resolve these issues. I'm incredibly frustrated because when I voiced my complaint about the app to a customer service representative, they actually hung up on me. Don't rely on the Midland States Bank app (or their customer service, for that matter) to meet your financial and banking needs. They will only bring you immense disappointment.
I only have a mortgage with Midland States and no other accounts, but making my mortgage payments has always been a nightmare because they don't offer an option for online payments on their website. The only way to make a payment or transfer funds from my bank is to visit their peculiar, separate "Express Pay" site, where you have to manually enter all your account information for the transaction to go through. I downloaded this app in the hopes of finding a solution for setting up mortgage payments, but unfortunately, it's even less functional than their website. All I can do is view my loan balance and a few months' worth of transactions. Midland States, please take action to address this issue. Making mortgage payments should not be this arduous.
