Specializing in consumer, commercial and wealth management services, California Bank & Trust (CB&T) has its headquarters in San Diego, California. History[Edit]
In October 1998, California Bank & Trust was formed by merging three institutions that separately belonged to Zions Bancorporation. These institutions were Sumitomo Bank of California, Grossmont Bank, and First Pacific National Bank.
The bank continued to grow by acquiring Regency Bank located in Fresno, California, in 1999, and Eldorado Bancshares, which comprised Eldorado Bank and Antelope Valley Bank, in 2001.
More recently, when the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation closed Alliance Bank and Vineyard Bank in 2009, California Bank & Trust acquired Alliance Bank's 1 million of deposits and $1.14 billion of assets, and up to $225 million of the sold bank's credits.

Corporate Social Responsibility[edit]
The FDIC rated California Bank & Trust as "outstanding" in 2012 for its execution under the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).[15] In 2011, it was designated as a "preferred SBA lender" by the Small Business Administration.[16]
Employees of California Bank & Trust raised over ,000 for the United Way in 2012[17] and $101,000 in 2013.[18] In April 2012, the bank announced the conception of a new project that would focus on offering financial support to minority and women-owned businesses in California, called TEAM (Tools, Education, Access and Mentoring). This project was developed in partnership with Latina Style, Inc. and the Anna Maria Arias Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting Latina entrepreneurs to establish lasting and successful enterprises.[19]
CB&T donated $25,000 to the United Way in December 2018 in response to the Camp Fire in Northern California, and the Woolsey and Hill Fires in Southern California.[20] In September 2019, CB&T offered a check in the sum of $10,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater San Diego in support of their "An Evening of Changing Lives" signature event.[21]
CB&T's inaugural "Give Day" in August 2021 saw 115 employees join hands to give back to their communities through volunteerism and charitable acts, including sorting food, painting murals, and building homes. Notably, all locations of the bank participated in collecting donations as well.
In a remarkable show of generosity, CB&T has given more than $1 million to The Old Globe in San Diego, CA, since 1987, earning itself the title of Extraordinary Leader and a paver on the theatre's Copley Plaza. This announcement was made by The Old Globe in November 2021.
In June 2022, CB&T and its team raised nearly ,000 through their 2022 CB&T Giving Campaign, with employees contributing ,000 to innumerable non-profit organizations across California. The bank also donated $20,000 to organizations partnered with United Way.
Greenwich Associates has recognized CB&T's sterling performance in small business and middle market banking by awarding it 18 Excellence and Best Brand Awards.
